My first taste of Shno Xavier’s music was his track “Things To Do Before I Die” that sampled The Animals’ track “House of the Rising Sun” and the combination of creativity and ability was undeniable. Recently, he surfaced in the ELEVATOR submissions inbox and I was impressed yet again, but this time with his “Filmore (Freestyle)” that again played on a sample, but not one that is widely known and odd for a rap song as the aforementioned track. Xavier demonstrates his excellent rapping ability over an instrumental that is exceptionally wavy with a subtle guitar melody with bouncy percussion.
