Philadelphia native Matt Ox has been one of the more intriguing new artists of the last few years. When I first encountered him, he was dancing on the turntables during Lil’ Uzi Vert’s Day N’ Night festival set. The next time he was thrust onto my radar was the release of his most recent project, Ox, on which he floated exponentially—and on my radar, he’s stayed. Returning to the spotlight, he taps homies, Zeus Ox and Ox Flacko for their high-octane new single, “Enemies”.

Set to the backdrop of a basement hangout and a group of rambunctious teenagers, “Enemies” is a fast, aggressive, in-your-face kind of video. Backed by a Pik6sso produced instrumental and with the quick scene cuts helping to accentuate the raw, but inspiring lyrics from the Ox crew, you get a sense of what the trio was trying to portray. Matt, himself, kicks the track off with an infectious hook and newly minted cadence with one of my favorite lyrics of his to date, “making money that you can’t. I’m the boss, you my lil’ man,” which sounds just so phenomenal coming out of the young bull’s ever-so-confident mouth.

Check out the video for, “Enemies” below and be sure to stay updated on the Ox crew.
