Angelo Mota engages on a journey into madness in his new video for “Pele.” Now, this is a rare case of a music video with a story that is not either cringe-worthy or incoherent, so I am not going to overexplain it and just suggest you tuning in. Mota’s rapping ability shines in the midst of the cinematic treat that is this visual, and he has a gift for both creating melodic sections to his music and flat out spitting bars. The instrumental is ominous and head-knocking, filled with sonic conventions that build suspense and fear. I really enjoyed this video and want to hear more from Angelo Mota in the future.
