Yung Davon’s Aries is a project of ambition that you don’t usually hear from a young up and coming rapper. It’s focused, self-aware and shows emotion, talent and a whole lot of passion.
It ranges from flow-driven cuts like “Fuck Yall” which are somewhat minimal and atmospheric to tracks like “Goin’ Ghost” which are aggressive, off-kilter and reminiscent of the Chicago drill scene. Yung Davon is almost like a chameleon, the way he changes cadences and styles through the project’s 27-minute duration; ranging from lyrical to braggadocios. With the ability to projects as cohesive as this out so early in his career, it’s clear that the Tuscon rapper a bright future ahead of him.
