Dayton Ohio’s power house rap duo Y.O.P. (Young Ohio Players) have dropped their highly anticipated new mixtape The Cartier 2. The group consists of JAB and Will Turner and the two of them have been struggling and hustling since they can remember. Shits never easy, but the two of them have been making it work backing their entire movement themselves. During the creation of the new project JAB caught a weapons charge which slowed down the process, but God is good and luckily he beat the case and was able to get back to work. He recalls all the dirt they have had to do just to get funds to travel and pay for videos, studio time, and ensuring that all of their content was high quality and met the industry standards. Recently he’s expressed being grateful that music is finally allowing him to put those days in the past and the group has truly buckled down and has the goal to focus on music and music only. I recall at this past SXSW making my way through the packed house on one of the many venues on 6th street in downtown Austin Texas and being blown away not only by the amount of crowd participation and love they were receiving, but how well they performed and their energy on stage was off the charts. With all that being said I can assure you that these dudes have a bright future ahead of them.
