London based singer-songwriter, Westerman, takes the alternative indie genre, meshes it to his liking with a splash of pop culture influence, then binding that mixture with stellar visual effects as seen in his latest video titled “Outside Sublime”. This concoction of styles creates a unique culmination of refreshing outputs through sound & visual aesthetics.

As the video opens, a particular groove accompanies a set of guitar chords that deliver a very warm and nostalgic feel. Alongside this engaging auditory ensemble, the point of view seen is flying over a body of water— easily guiding the viewer into another realm. Westerman’s voice comes in suddenly with a comforting reassurance to self, “be what you want, I’ll always be your champion”. He lays in the soil, locking his focus into the camera lens, as flowers and grass grow slowly around him.

Completely still, he recites lyrics that stem from mutual support and self-love such as “You could be anything or stick to what you have got/Stay inside or wake up/Outside sublime”. As the video continues on, the viewer travels in and out of what seem to be multidimensional experiences with Westerman, as his lyrics are a reflection of the evolution taking place.

3D effects are a great incorporation in this visual—well executed, of high definition and filled to the top with aesthetically pleasing scenes that bring a new level of magnification on the noble beauty of this entire works.
