Recently on my trip to the Bay Area, California culture extraordinaire Zini pointed me in the direction of budding underground rapper WADE08 and from my first listen to Wade’s debut TUCKMODE EP I was sold on the burgeoning MC. Wade characterizes his unique sound as a “futuristic hyphy.” distinctly Bay Area sound with a more modern and soulful twist on the classic sound.

WADE08’s new tape, F.T.F.O.I. continues to show his development and more sides to him as an artist previously unknown. Wade’s lyrics are solid and his tracks have a perfect bounce to them. The production is fantastic from front to back and all done by Wade himself. He produced, played, recorded, and engineered every ounce of this project. Keep WADE08 on your radar, he is one of the freshest artists I have heard from California and incredibly talented.
