No, it’s not an open mic night.

No, it’s not an open mic night.

New Breed, (presented by concert, management, and tour company, Veli Brand), is a series where local acts get a chance to perform in front of a crowd of advent concert-goers. This past Thursday (7/28), The Veli Brand team presented New Breed 5, and to say the show was a success would be downplaying it. New Breed 5 welcomed 6 new artist to its’ stage; 821, Suirad Franklin, Xali, Hallie, Sour, and Scottie Cash — the event sold out. 821 (from New York), Xali (from South Florida), and Sour (from Jersey) all got a chance to come to Philadelphia and showcase their own styles of rap and represent where they’re from — they did an outstanding job out that.

Scottie Kash, Suirad Franklin, and Hallie represented Philly in the right way. A lot of times, artist are overlooked because of the over abundance of music there is, but if you were at Philadelphia venue, “The Fire“, on Thursday, you definitely left with a new favorite artist, a new perspective of shows, and some new heat for the AUX cord.

Overall, the show was fun, packed, and full of giveaways by clothing brand Blisstory (check them out). We’re all looking forward to New Breed 6 and beyond!
