Mike Golden, fresh off the release of his new project Just Be A Better Person, Chicago Redeye cover story AND album release show at the Double Door, joined us for the first installment of our new series unmixed / unmastered where we capture raw, impromptu performances of some of the best upcoming talents. Mike Golden is definitely one of those talents, fusing soul, funk, jazz and hip hop into up-beat, pop quality jams. Golden was featured on Donnie Trumpet‘s Surf project last year, so it’s no wonder Donnie repaid the favor on Mike’s new project, which features another buzzing Chicago artist Kweku Collins. We caught up with Mike at his Pilsen apartment where he belted out his summer ’15 single “Working On Myself” and a never before heard rendition of his new single off the new album “Rain Dance”. Watch below and follow Mike Golden.
