The Billboard 200 had a brief hiccup this week, as the chart was delayed due to technical difficulties amongst one of the closest album races of the year. Lana Del Rey, Tyler The Creator & Meek Mill were all battling for the top spot, and at last we have the final results from the tight competition.
Lana Del Rey scores her second #1 album as Lust For Life pushes an impressive 107k units with 80k in traditional sales (an actual album purchase, vs. streaming). Tyler’s new project Flower Boy nearly snagged the top spot, with 106k units sold & 70k coming directly from sales. Meek secures the three spot with an impressive 102k sold (37k traditional) for his third studio album Wins & Losses.
All three artists out-performed their projections, a great sign for the music industry as a whole. Congrats to Lana, Tyler and Meek!
