My Philly sis, Tierra Whack, has been steady feeding her fans for the past few weeks. Back in February, the versatile artist announced “Whack History Month” where she has dropped a new track every week for the past five weeks. “Unemployed” is her latest single from this rollout which arrived yesterday.
I’ve seen Tierra Whack’s name floating around on my timeline, but I never got a chance to listen to her. Thanks to this write-up I can no longer say that, as I am now determined to learn her entire discography. She’s also from Philly so it’s mandatory that I show love. From the couple songs I listened to already, I noticed off rip that she is versatile. Not everyone can switch between singing and rapping with ease but she can and I find that unique. Watch out Drake.
Whack’s debut album, Whack World, dropped last May. The album is short and simple with a run time of 15 minutes between 15 songs – so yes, each song is a one minute in length. It’s kind of a tease, but she clearly has more tricks up her sleeve, hence the “Whack History Month” rollout. We just have to be patient and let her go at her own pace. Tierra, if you’re reading this, you’ve gained a new fan.
