Harlem love in the ’70s.

My queen Teyana Taylor dropped a 70’s-themed visual for “Issues/Hold On” and I was not ready for it. Directed by the singer herself, the video stars her and the ever-so-dapper, ASAP Rocky, as her love interest. ASAP Ferg and Tyler the Creator also got into character as they both can be spotted in different shots during the video.

Teyana’s sophomore album, K.T.S.E, dropped last summer as a part of GOOD music’s weekly rollout of 7-track albums last June. She began touring with Jeremih shortly after but essentially kicked him off his own tour after saying that she was being mistreated.

If I wasn’t already so obsessed with Teyana’s cute little family, then I would say that I’d love to see her and Rocky blossom into something. Their on-screen chemistry is definitely present and believable in most of these scenes.

This video is also funny to me because the storyline is kind of cheesy. Rocky almost looks like he belongs in this decade; the whole 70’s get-up looks good on him – but then again, what doesn’t? Tyler’s placement seems random and Ferg’s 3-second cameo as a pimp is laughable, but it all works. I honestly love it.
