I have to say, I am quite pleased with Yugi Yamaguchi. It seems every single “rapper” I find on SoundCloud considers anime as their chief personality trait and couldn’t get one-hundred plays if it weren’t for an ejaculation of autotune on their nasally voices, but Yugi is a pleasant change.

As opposed to modifying his voice with autotune, Yugi embraces it with his aggressive and confrontational tone, with equally bellicose and punchy ad-libs, which elevate the already intense track to a completely different level. Producer Lloyd Flannel deserves a great deal of credit also, as this beat knocks perfectly with a nice bubbly undertone. I really, really enjoyed this Yugi track and dig the rest of his offerings, so I am very much looking forward to what the St. Louis rapper has for us next.
