The Stranded Civilians have went through a meteoric rise throughout Chicago's hip-hop ranks in recent years off of a small catalog. With little more than one EP and one full length project to their name, they have generated a ton of hype due to their soulful production aesthetics and witty, poetic lyricism. Now, they are back with a brand new single, "Midwestside," which follows the release of their debut album, 2020's Nirvana.

Over a midpaced instrumental driven by some soulful guitar and funky basslines, MC's Aubry and Tony Santana spit some of their most poetic, love-tinged bars to date, utilizing an entire arsenal of flows in the process. These dudes are known to be patient with releasing music, and this song is an example of why; they haven't missed a beat since their last release. Tap in below.
