Switching monikers could symbolize a new beginning for an artist that’s looking for salvation. It could represent a new identity and a fresh start. Formerly known as Phil Ade, DMV native ADÉ uses this method as he resurfaces with a new name, and a refreshing new project in, Always Something.

At 6-songs, Always Something was the absolute perfect length to introduce this new moniker to the world. Sporting an impressive list of features in Rich The Kid, Goldlink, Wale & most surprisingly, Lil Baby, it’s obvious that ADÉ wanted to come back out with a bang, and that he did. From the jump, the groove of the project stands out more than anything, as his Go-Go influence is highly apparent on tracks like, “Something Sweet”, the Fatman Scoop assisted banger that brings out the best nostalgia imaginable, with Scoop bringing you back to 10th-grade roller rinks.

The other standout from the project, “Something Real” is also one that is sure to endear fans. Calling on his fellow DMV reps, ADÉ recruits Goldlink and DMV for a silky smooth, youthful anthem that’s sure to be blasting from college dorms all along the region.

With every track being themed around the word, “Something”, the motive of the project is simple—love can go from nothing to something, and vice versa, right before your eyes, before you can even realize.
