The combo of Anderson Paak and Bruno Mars is already a winning formula without even hearing the song yet. I was so excited to watch it when it dropped. They call themselves “Silk Sonic” and it matches the vibe in the video pretty well. These dudes are so smooth, it's smoother than the silk on their shirts, which is why the name is so fitting. “Leave the Door Open” is a song our parents would probably listen to, a 70s vibe we all have been missing. It opens up with Anderson on the drumset and Bruno on keys and it immediately gives us a live session / tiny desk vibe. I can see this being played at a lot of future weddings. When they both announced the collaboration, I was skeptical, especially with Bruno Mars being more on the pop side in the past, I was a little nervous with Anderson collabing with him, but it has exceeded my expectations so far! I wonder, is Andeson really singing or lip syncing in this video? Bruno Mars steals the show with his powerful voice, so I hope to hear more from Anderson Paak in the next releases. Overall a 10/10 and I highly recommend this one!
