One of my favorite flows in the rap game right now is the monotone, almost disinterested cadence of several Atlanta rappers dealing with drugs, murder, and gang activity in the most nonchalant of manners. 21 Savage was the pioneer of this style down south, but several other rappers bring their lyrics to life in this manner, notably Slimesito.

To me, it is fascinating that Atlanta trappers are so desensitized to this frankly horrifying subject matter that they could deal with it in the most mundane fashion. Recently, Slimesito’s friend and collaborator was arrested recently in Atlanta on undisclosed charges, so Sito paid tribute to his newly incarcerated homie on an aptly named track, “Free Beezyb.” Hopefully Beezy is out soon so we can hear him and Slimesito on a track together again.
