From Young Thug, to Lil Wayne, to Gunna and Lil Baby, these past few weeks of hip-hop releases have been absolutely insane. Topping it all off is a project we’ve all been anticipating ever since the first time we heard “Mo Bamba”, Sheck Wes‘ debut project Mudboy.
The feature-free, all-Sheck effort embodies what it means to be born and raised in the mud. Growing up in Harlem, Africa, and Milwaukee, Sheck Wes has been through it all. He thrived in every cutthroat environment that was thrown at him, and eventually earned himself a label deal with Travis Scott‘s Cactus Jack Records.
‘Where I came from, they shootin’ the four // Where I come from, no books in the stores // Where I come from, there’s hate and no love” he sings on the sixth track “Never Lost”.
The fourteen-piece album will be played on repeat for all of the foreseeable future, so save it to your Spotify and enjoy.
