Yesterday, r&b singer Russ went on 105.1’s The Breakfast Club and made some very interesting claims. As most people know, Russ has become the target of internet cool kids’ hatred after wearing a shirt last year mocking and degrading those suffering with addiction during the height of the opioid epidemic. Most artists accused the singer of being corny and called him out for his callous commentary on an issue so prevalent and destructive in the music community.

Most artists accused the singer of being corny and called him out for his callous commentary on an issue so prevalent and destructive in the music community.
Because of the controversy, Russ provoked several artists took to twitter and continued the assault long after the beef was seemingly smoothed over. Yung Bans, in particular, is the leader of the Russ hate, brashly proclaiming “Fuck Russ” at any point he can. Most recently, Bans took a video of a dumpster floating down a flooded street and responded, “Somebody get Russ out that water.” Smokepurpp, a frequent Lil Pump collaborator and South Florida superstar, also frequently takes shots at Russ, much to Russ’ chagrin.
Russ has finally had enough. He told Charlamagne that he had video of him beating up one of the two aforementioned artists at an unnamed festival earlier this year. He refused to specify which one, but assured listeners that if the victim does try and assail his good name again, the video will be released.
Personally, my hunch is that if the video actually exists, Russ’ target was Purpp, as Bans has already taken to twitter to assure his fans that there is no way “Russ beat my ass,” and in turn the video is still yet to surface. Purpp has been quiet on the issue.
Grab your popcorn. This is gonna be a fun one to watch.
UPDATE: new footage that has just surfaced from Splash Festival in Germany seems to indicate Russ wasn’t cappin.
