“Wild Rose Pass” has a cathartic, gentle quality about it.

RF Shannon’s latest single was a surprise present listen for a guy like myself who grew up in America’s country music capital, who over the years became a tad bitter to the sound. However, “Wild Rose Pass” was not in the slightest bit what I expected from the opening guitar chords being strummed.

His vocals are breezy and cathartic, almost giving a “bedroom-western” feel if you will. The instrumentation is pleasant, complete with the typical metonymies of this genre such as the fusion of gentle acoustic guitars and more twangy electric guitar support. I really enjoyed this track, and with an open mind I would bet than any of our site’s typical readers would feel the same way.
