We’re back with our latest songs of the week segment, the first of 2017. Many people are dubbing 2016 to be a shitty movie with a killer soundtrack, given that we were gifted with countless hit songs, mixtapes and albums. Well, 2017’s soundtrack is pretty hot so far, with guys like Yung Pinch, ieuan and LAMB$ delivering major waves within the first week of the year.

Check out all our favorite shit we were listening to this week below and enjoy.

Yung Pinch // Still Me

@yungpinch

Yung Pinch had one hell of a year in 2016, and has been riding his immense buzz into the new year. He recently dropped off a killer jam entitled “Still Me, ” produced by in-house producer and longtime friend Matics. I was actually lucky enough to be in the studio as they made this record, and holy shit was it cool seeing their chemistry in action. Pinch, Matics and the rest of the 714ever crew are well on their way to national prominence, and I very much look forward to seeing them blow up.

Che // N ME

@cheecru

Che is inarguably my favorite new artist, and reaffirmed that notion with his recently-released CHE GOT WINGS EP with wave-making producer Cardo. I’ve usually seen Cardo make collab projects with rappers, but being that Che is a versatile artist that can both sing and rap very well, I was pleasantly surprised at how well of a fit these two were. With Che’s incredible voice and flavor as an artist laying wonderfully across the variant soundscapes crafted by Cardo, CHE GOT WINGS and more specifically “N ME” is one of my favorite pieces of music to come out in recent memory.

ieuan // The Day U Left Me

@ieuanofficial

Rising UK/Bay Area singer ieuan unleashed a great new jam the other day in the form of “The Day U Left Me.” It’s a sultry pop ballad from the buzzing crooner, who flexes his knack for songwriting and his great voice across the uptempo, spacey production. All in all, it’s another impressive showing from ieuan, who I’m excited to hear more from.

Nate Dizzwald // Play Ya

@natedizzwald

Blossoming Pennsylvania artist Nate Dizzwald has simply been on a tear since the second half of last year, delivering quality single after quality single. His most recent jam is entitled “Play Ya,” and is another stellar track from Dizz. Riding some A1 production from Kojo, “Play Ya” is a super-smooth, romance-tinged record that shows exactly why Nate’s music career is off to such a hot start. He has a unique sound and style all his own, a warming blend of genres that will have you yearning to hear more and more.

Navé Monjo // Royal Blue

@navemonjo

Navé Monjo is a name you most likely haven’t heard before, but it won’t be long before his name and music will be unavoidable. We just premiered his most recent single “Royal Blue” this past week, and hot damn is that boy talented. He writes, produces and records himself, and is without a doubt one of the most impressive guys that I’ve been put onto in recent memory. His sound and style is so clean and crisp, and portends a tremendously bright future for the Kansas City native.

Kojo, Aus Taylor & Marleaux D. // Deja Vu

@itskojo | @ausxtaylor | @marleauxd

Kojo is without a doubt one of the finest and most talented producers making a name for himself right now, and recently teamed up with a pair of his very talented friends in Aus Taylor and Marleaux D for a killer new slow jam titled “Deja Vu.” Aus and Marleaux trade some quality, thoughtful lines across Kojo’s silky, slow-burning production, all piecing together for an awesome track overall.

LAMB$ & Playboi Carti // Another Day

@INSOMNIACLAMBS | @playboicarti

LAMB$ is a favorite of ours here at ELEVATOR, and the Ohio native recently dropped off another impressive banger in the form of “Another Day.” Featuring Playboi Carti, “Another Day” is a super dope jam that shows off their slick rhymes and undeniably chemistry. Overall, it’s a dope listen and enjoyable track from LAMB$ and Cash Carti.
