With only one video to date and less than 200 followers on Twitter, it is rare to see a musician with so much superstar potential at such an early stage in his career, but that is the exact place that we are currently in with quami.xyz. Quami’s deserving of all of this hype, however. “Clementine” is a masterpiece of soul-searching and gentle vocals. With only one listen it is easy to see why a tremendous buzz is building around him. A quick glance at the YouTube comments would likely affirm what both you, and I, are thinking. Nearly all listeners who have taken notice of Quami have made the same comparison to enigmatic r&b legend Frank Ocean. Normally I hate comparisons like this because I feel they take away from the new artist and his uniqueness, but in this case, there is no manner to take this parity in any way but flattery.

Quami.xyz’s lyricism is clever and beautiful, dealing with nature and interpersonal relationships. My favorite portion of “Clementine” has to be the twenty or so seconds following the “Hol’ up wait, that’s uncalled for!” pace change. His style is unmatchable and his musical talent cannot be questioned. Quami.xyz is a star in the process of being born. Take notice now. By 2020 he will be one of the biggest stars on the planet.
