For some insane reason, the general public is just now finding out who Powers Pleasant is. Granted, he’s just now starting to put out music, but the Pro Era co-founder has always been an intricate part in what the crew, specifically Joey Bada$$, do, whether it’s serving as their DJ, stylist, producer or whatever. You name it, Pow can do it. After releasing one of the summer’s more solid singles in the Kirk Knight, A$AP Ferg assisted, “Pull Up,” Pow recruits fellow Beast Coast member Zombie Juice, as well as Zillakami, IDK & the always energetic Denzel Curry for his menacing new single, “Please Forgive.”
Backed by ambitious bass-kicks, towering synths, and rapid hi-hats, “Please Forgive” is a high octane, exciting track that showcases some of Pow’s best qualities as a producer. While many beatmakers would love to have these four, very different cadences over their production, it’s not as easy as he makes it seem. Just listen to the difference in styles and vocal patterns between the verses provided by IDK and Zillakami. While both of them absolutely blackout over the beat, the production almost sounds different in each verse, almost as if it progressed into a different sound, fitted for Zillakami’s particular rhyme patterns.
In all, “Please Forgive” serves as the perfect follow up to, “Pull Up” and should make fans excited for his upcoming project. Check out the track below and get familiar with the Flatbush legend.
