Donte Thomas recently arrived on the radar and the Portland rapper has quickly asserted himself as one of my favorite up-and-comers because of his innate ability to paint pictures through his words, which is evident as one of his main objectives with the title of his new album COLORS. On the album, Thomas attacks a variety of instrumental styles, showing his versatility and overall rapping skill that is undeniable. He has some tracks that are straight bars for their entire duration, but many other more melodic and sensual inputs on COLORS that further show his ability to succeed in any lane. I really enjoyed this project and have already been very pleased with my first couple of listens through.
