Brooklyn based musical group, Phony Ppl, have been producing timeless anthems since forming in 2012, with classics like “I Wish I Was A Chair” & “Sometimes iii Think About You” to name a few. Their neo-soul roots coupled with their one-of-a-kind hip-hop sound definitely sets them apart from any current acts associated with this genre today.
At last, their newly released album titled Mō’zā-ik, consists of 11 tracks, all beautifully meshing together with their well-thought-out lyrics and soft, sultry vibes. The group consists of the following members: ElbeeThrie as the lead vocalist, Aja Grant as composer & songwriter, Elijah Rawk on guitar, Bari Bass on the bass guitar, and Matthew Byas on percussion. The chemistry between all group members is something to be admired, as they produce unfading tracks meant to last for the generations to come.
On the song “Move Her Mind”, ElbeeThrie sings about how paramount substance is when it comes to getting to know a new particular love interest. Through lyrics like, “Sex is easy/I know you please me/but what books can you read me?”, Phony Ppl continue to express eloquent messages such as these, all of which have become more prominent & meaningful in today’s day and age.
