Allow me to introduce Brooklyn's own O'Keefe to the pages of ELEVATOR. The eclectic young rapper has been making music for some time and started receiving local attention last year. With the release of his latest video My Dream Girl Is Different, O'Keefe kicked off 2020 on the right track. The cinematic visual features, love, fun, & excitement, coupled with O'Keefe's rap persona. O'Keefe's style and delivery are easy to digest, and this young rapper is determined to make a name for himself based on his consistency. We are anxious to see what the remainder of the year has in store for O'Keefe.
In a recent interview O'Keefe stated:
"I feel like music is my job and is something a part of me, I felt like I’ve seen everything in life from struggles to riches, the crazy and the unexpected. Eye witnessed it all and now I’m writing about it. I make different music for everybody to reach out to everybody, to let em' know I understand where they are coming from. From hip hop to Rock I find a way to express my current state psychologically. And my mood rapidly changes. I could be in a rock phase for a short period then the next minute I’m in a drill trap mindset ya know lol.... but I control most of these moods as much as possible. I’m very big on sports, I was a 3 sport athlete in high school I played football, basketball and ran track, also played soccer here and there. Fashion is also something I really wanted to get into as I’ve always been around fashion and definitely plays a part in my music. The crazy thing is I used to look at the stage in the auditorium and imagine myself performing music, but never imagined why or that I’d become a musical artist. Because sports to me was the focus. Everybody knows I grew up listening to hip hop/rap especially 50cent, Lil Wayne, Akon, Eminem, but what a lot of people didn’t know was that I also listened to rock music especially the punk rock band era back then in the 2000's".
