Let’s get a few things straight. All three of these artists dropped incredible albums this year and if you haven’t already immersed yourself in Room 25, Care For Me, and Noir then I suggest you start there before pressing play on this video. The three, Smino, Saba, and Noname decidedly unique and versatile projects show off that the Midwest torch is in great hands as all three are deserving of this massive moment performing on Jimmy Fallon late last night.

While Noname has performed on Saturday Night Live before, this is to my knowledge the first tv appearance for Saba and Smino who each answer the call in a big way, Smino with his velvety vocals that help anchor the track’s chorus, Noname with her poetic and precise bars and Saba with his dizzying display of lyrical skill. Together, the three put on an incredible performance that’s worth a watch or three. Their impressive rendition of “Ace” off of Noname’s acclaimed Room 25 album is an impressive glimpse at some of music’s brightest stars also sharing incredible chemistry.
