At this time last year, Matt Muse was coming of off a tour and working on his album. Good news, he isn’t slowing down anytime soon. He just headlined the Taste of Chicago and releasedNappy Talk,” his latest piece of work.

This album was influenced by Muse’s south-side saviors, Common and Kanye West. On “Nappy Talk,” Muse talks about love of self, love of his community and love of black women. The tracks on this album are hype, happy and harmonious; every songs fits. When asked what he wants people to get from his albums he said, “I want people to hear my declaration of self-love and the funny braggadocios way I do that on the album.
