Ever since his days as Lucki Eck$, Lucki has developed one of the most drowsily exciting flows in the rap game and somehow manages to sleepwalk over a beat and still produce quite rousing tunes. He has had a not so private bout with drugs, particularly opioids, since a teen, and his new track “1 way” offers some insight into his struggles.

Lucki explains how his trust issues developed, as women attempted to grab a piece of him for his fame, and how pills became his only release. He became a paycheck to the people around him, and loneliness set in. Lucki bargains with the people in his life and if their intentions are pure, saying, “is it alright to miss you, or is you fuckin’ opps.” This lyric offers a terrifying insight into the evils of fame, and how nearly no one wants to involve themselves in your life, unless you are giving them something in return. Perhaps the most authentic line in the song is, “She play with my heart, then ask me why I sip.” This is a window straight into Lucki’s soul, and it is staggering how authentic his lyrics are at times. Lucki is a national treasure and makes routinely incredible music.
