Diamond Lane Music Group signee, Airplane James has been one of the fastest rising artists in this New L.A. scene. One of the reasons for that has been his authentically gifted sound, as evidenced in his hit single, “FWU”. Returning to further establish his brand, Plane drops off his new EP, Eastside Special.

Coming in at 5-tracks, the EP is definitely short but jam-packed with content. Of the 5-songs, none are definite skips, providing the listener with an actively fun experience. What might surprise listeners on this project is the level of aggression put forth by Plane on songs like, “OMM” and, “Fact Check” with the latter Jay 305 collaboration serving as one of the fan favorites.

Speaking of fan favorites, it’s no secret that the aforementioned, “FWU” is the best record on this project. Hell, it might be one of the best records to drop this year, period. Utilizing a sweet sample provided by Saltreze, SoundsByTC and of course, Tony! Toni! Toné!, Plane and guest-star, Shams deliver the heartfelt anthem of the early new year, both infectiously crooning about a love they long to make more official.
