One of the most highly anticipated albums of all time finally released last night. The first installment in the iconic Carter series since 2011, Lil Wayne finally dropped the fifth entry in his already classic discography. Since 2011 a lot has changed and it seems Wayne fathered a whole generation of cheap imitators. On the record, Tunechi reminds us why he’s still the GOAT.
With features from Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott, and the late XXXTentacion. Checking in at 23 tracks, this project is one you’ll likely have to spend the weekend with to get a more fully formed opinion, but first impressions are that Wayne has delivered a promising body of work, while not every song is a hit.
Overall, the album reasserts Wayne’s lyrical dominance while also highlighting his continued growth. Do yourself a favor and press play below.
