The Orlando native has been making a ton of noise…

Prior to watching John Mayer‘s Hot Ones interview, I was shockingly unfamiliar with Lil Boom. It’s literally my job to keep tabs on the hottest rappers in the game, and I’ve admittedly failed by sleeping on the Florida native for so long.

“There’s something about Lil Boom that I really like,” said Mayer after host Sean Evans asked a question pertaining to SoundCloud rappers. “His samples are these really highly melodic things. And on a songwriting level, he says he’s on page fifty of Porn Hub looking for a video and then says, last year I got a Starter coat for Christmas,” John continues. “The thing about songwriting is, I like taking two seemingly opposing ideas and letting them beat off another.”

Lil Boom’s first break came in June of 2016 after he released “Fuck Steph Curry,” a Golden State Warriors diss track that gained the attention of both DJ Akademiks and Adam22. The self-proclaimed ‘Meme God’ continued to unleash heat as the year rolled on, capitalizing off the success of popular internet trends with songs like “RIP Harambe” and “Fuck KD.” His affection for hentai doesn’t go unnoticed either, as many of Boom’s recent album covers on SoundCloud feature at least one foreign cartoon character.

Equipped with a deep knowledge of internet culture and passion for entertaining, there’s no question as to why Lil Boom is one of Tallahassee’s most prominent recording artists. Lil Boom’s ability to make people laugh causes a major rise in his stock price, and will undoubtedly help position the rapper atop his bracket in due time.

Listen to a few of Lil Boom’s best songs below, and don’t sleep on the future superstar.
