Koran Streets has a lot to say, as he spills his heart all over his critically acclaimed album “Late 20s.” Giving listeners a first-hand account of his struggles, Koran Streets bears it all in his latest video for “Sincerely Yours.” The self-directed video is straight to the point, showing the brutal truths to Koran’s rise, from sleeping on floors, to doing a bid on a gun charge, and more. The video keeps Koran front and center, lacking all the typical glitz and glamor found in other rap videos of the day. If the album wasn’t enough to evoke some emotion, this video will certainly do the trick.

Koran plays the subject of his own life story, narrating his younger years, and in some parts of the video he acts alongside the lyrics to give a recount of his tales. Koran’s music is cutting, bringing his own life substance to the music, making him slightly the black sheep of upcoming rap, but rap has always been built on stories of the struggle. The No Jumper-backed visual has been met with high praise for the South Berkeley rapper.
