Kid Trunks is known for being an original member of the Members Only & Very Rare collectives with XXXTentacion and Ski Mask The Slump God. The Florida native recently sat down with Mass Appeal for an Open Space interview, and unveiled a tactic that the group used to help promote their music at an early stage.

“Members Only and Very Rare was a whole collective. It was just people in a group chat promoting X and Ski’s music. We’d have meetings every week and a half at McDonalds, and everybody had a goal to send 20 different people a certain SoundCloud link,” he explained.

“Our shows were crazy, too. We’d pull up deep as fuck, and fans would always come out. Everyone in the group was genuine and just wanted to see each other grow.”

By utilizing word of mouth as their main promotional strategy, XXXTentacion and Ski Mask’s music grew in the most natural way possible. A cult of followers soon formed in the compact South Florida scene, and helped build one of the most successful dynasties in the state’s musical history.
