I’ve been a fan of Kid Cudi‘s music for a long time. Like many others, his music came to me at a rough time in my life and definitely helped me in certain ways to overcome personal obstacles I was facing. But, just like handfuls of others did before him, his music took a couple of turns and just stopped really doing much for me. While countless other fans still worshipped his every move and musical note, I felt as though he had kinda fallen off musically, and that was utterly confirmed with his last rock ‘n roll effort.

Like, what the fuck was that actually? It was nearly unlistenable, and I think you’re playing yourself if you think it’s a solid project overall.

Anyways, news recently broke that his newest album is finally finished, but at this point I’m barely tempted to care.

Cudi hasn’t delivered a really impressive body of work in years, and while I totally understand being at a wildly different stage in his life now than he was, there’s plenty of other artists that sober up, straighten up, and still put out good songs.

For me, morale is low as a Cudi fan, and while I do hope this impending effort will be worth it and a good listen, there’s not much recent evidence that would support it turning out that well. I could very well be wrong, and I definitely hope so, but I’m not holding my breath.
