Earlier this month, California’s Katori Walker dropped off a new single. “Run,” as it’s called, details the consciousness of black America, and the ramifications he outlines are powerful, to say the least. This is gripping stuff (if for the wrong reasons), and it outlines how jagged our politics and social connections are.

Almost necessarily, Katori has chosen to deliver a video for the single, and, mirroring the lyrics, it brings to life the tensions of all detailed. It’s sad that this is the reality for so many, but, perhaps through outlets like this one, a better understanding (and solution) can be had.
