Nobody likes when their time is treated with a lack of appreciation. At this point in our grown adult lives, it’s quite ludicrous and senseless, to say the least. Communication is such a major key in everything, however, that is not the case for Kari Faux in her latest music video titled “Leave Me Alone”. Directed by Dylan McGale, Kari retreats from the outside world inside of a motel, completely content in her privacy. Shot with a retro-style feel, the visual is adorned with lucid, colorful hues as well as many moments that give us that “wow” factor. As the landline rings continuously throughout the video, Kari sings with carelessness, “When you’re ringing my telephone/All you hear is the dial tone/Tryna see what I been on/When I just wanna be left alone..”.
The lyrics in this song cut pretty deep as I, too, find myself isolating and shutting down communication a bit because it’s where my peace and clarity lies sometimes. It’s amazing at how relatable this track is, in every word. I mean, who likes half-ass relationships or, whether that be platonic or intimate, anyway? Styled by BT Marie, Kari’s wardrobe pieces in each scene are remarkable and authentic, as they are a true reflection of her style in general as she has never been one to follow trends. Withholding much replay value, the entire cinematic approach achieved here is outstanding. That might even be an understatement if we’re being completely honest.
