After Jay Z‘s new album 4:44 surfaced, speculations immediately arose that a certain set of lyrics found within the track Kill Jay Z were aimed directly at Kanye West. On the jab-filled track, HOV allegedly called out ‘Ye by saying:

“You got high on the life, that shit drugged you
You walkin around like you invincible
You dropped out of school, you lost your principles
But you ain’t a saint, this ain’t kumbaye
But you got hurt because you did cool by Ye”

Clearly aimed at the Chicago-bred rappers’ immense ego, it’s safe to say Jay was feeling some type of way towards his former collaborator. In a recent interview, GOOD Music signee 2 Chainz adressed the controversy as he details a recent encouter with West following the release of 4:44 saying “For the most part, bro was like ‘we still brothas.’ He had a couple things that’s personal that he wanted to keep to himself, but we talked about the music.”
