Roll your windows down and vibe.

Jordan Jones‘s new song off of his self-titled project, released via Burger Records, is damn near perfection. A combination of acoustic guitar and drums rings through the majority of the instrumental, but flashes of electric guitar and piano during crescendoes take this track to new heights. Jones sings with tremendous passion about his fleeting love and his attempts to woo her via his song, and for whatever reason this song feels nostalgic to me. The almost beachy power-pop record offers a distinctly classic, southern-rock feel with the brief guitar solo towards the end. Each rip of its mighty strings adds a totally different layer of sanguine energy to the track.

It feels like an end of summer movie montage. The kind of thing in the background as a kid finally works up the nerve to tell his crush how he feels right before it’s time to head back to school, the kind of thing that just can’t help but make you smile.

Roll your windows down and take a listen.
