The Internet Hippy is as real as they come.
If you’re an avid Twitter user in the hip-hop community, odds are you’ve seen a Internet Hippy tweet float across your timeline at one point or another. Turns out, the online enigma is actually a real person; and his name is Tom. Those who’ve had a chance to meet the Internet Hippy in real-life know he’s as genuine as they come, and his No Jumper interview continues to push that envelope.
In the new interview below, Adam22 picks through Internet Hippy’s brain to determine why he’s one of the internet’s most influential tastemakers. When posed with a question regarding his job at a record label and whether it classifies him as a “sellout,” Internet Hippy responded with:
“Hell no. I’m doing the same thing and I’m helping these artists come to the next level. I’m not a label dude. Has anybody noticed a switch in content? I’m still posting the same type of artists. I post people with under 100 followers, how could I possibly be a sellout? I’m using my money to buy a camera so I can film interviews with these guys and give them shirts for free.”
