Los Angeles rapper ICECOLDBISHOP has been creating quite the online buzz for himself despite only having released three tracks and a handful of features, but in the limited amount we have been exposed to the artist his talent is still unquestionable. Many Twitter and Instagram users were blessed with seeing a snippet of a raucous ICB track produced by Kenny Beats and just mere days ago super-producer Cardo Got Wings hinted at the existence of a full ICECOLDBISHOP album produced by the “God’s Plan” beatmaker.
Most recently, however, ICB visited the COLORS studio to perform a live rendition of his most popular track “IRATE.” Bishop is an incredibly impressive live performer, as his natural ability to create wild and expressive inflections in his delivery helps rocket him into another stratosphere of rappers who can do so much with their voice, and I hate comparing artists but if you also watched the ScHoolboy Q COLORS episode you will see many similarities in the way these two can belt out lines but very quickly and adeptly totally alter their pitch and bravado of their vocals.
Not only is the delivery of ICECOLDBISHOP a marvel, but also his lyrics stand out on every track he jumps on. In the song at hand, ICB uses impeccable world play numerous times and spits many lines that leave you shocked or laughing, just because you didn’t see the punchline coming at all. This is one of my favorite COLORS episodes yet and I promise you that ICECOLDBISHOP will be a very big name in a short amount of time.
