Hauskey is proud to share a new single, “Somewhere.” The track, which premiered on triple j follows the global support for his smooth, sunshine leftfield pop introductory single, “Slow.”

“Somewhere” takes a similar sonic blueprint to “Slow,” painting it with broader, denser and brighter brush strokes. It’s as taut as it is louche, groove-laden and loose-limbed; driving with melody and an assuredness that tends to arrive several releases in suggesting Hauskey is deserving of those ones to watch accolades that continue to rack up in the motherland and much further afield. A colorful start.

Hauskey says, “I wrote ‘Somewhere’ during week three of lockdown in Sydney. It was such an escape for me, that once I finished the first demo, I sat there for hours and just looped it over and over. It’s as much about physically wanting to get away, as needing to get out of my own head and stop thinking about every single negative thing that 2020 has thrown at us. It’s a short retreat, in a long year.”
