Social media engagement can turn a song from popular, to viral. Just ask Lil Nas X about his admiration for Triller and how they boosted his hit single. So when I can see an artist creatively tapping into that realm, it excites me. One of those artists is Connecticut rapper, BigBreadJRock who’s been on Twitter gaining much traction through his new record, “My Cup,” which naturally was awarded the video treatment.
Directed by Unruly Wes, the video for, “My Cup” starts off with a funny interaction between Rock and his lady, where she wakes up and he’s full and dressed, obviously prompting a few questions. From there, the video transitions into a full-fledged house party soundtracked to the aggressively charged, reggae-influenced production from the single. With Rock providing a hook that’s hard to forget, and simple to chant along to, it’s easy to see why he’s created a sort of social media buzz for himself.
