Memphis’ 2gramcam is one of my favorites. His disinterested, almost detached flow mixed with a subdued confidence in delivery makes Cam’s verses highly entertaining. The composed manner he deals with crime and violence is brutally honest. 2gramcam is not merely another street rapper saying the same repetitive chorus, however. Rather, he has some of my favorite bars of underground trappers for their cleverness and his ability to throw around juxtapositions and allusions with ease.
“Wizards” is Cam’s newest brash expression alongside producers CaptainCrunch and Good Intent. The beat, while simple, is marvelous for 2gram’s understated style, leaving much room for the budding MC to work, while offering a hard drum and bass line to keep the necessary pop for such a grimy record.
