Just a few weeks after delivering a stellar performance alongside Omar Apollo at Schubas, we’re proud to debut the latest visual from Chicago-based band The Slaps. Equipped with a strikingly unique sound and style to match, the three-piece group has a point to prove in their new video for “Houses.”

Surrounded by retro disco scenery and filled with oddities, the trio delivers a fitting accompaniment for the ambient track; making sure to capture viewers’ attention in both visual and audio form.

“We first started talking with Cooper (who co-directed the video) about a year ago regarding some general ideas and themes around the song,” they explain. “We definitely wanted to go for a dark, eerie vibe. The song is rooted in desire and the conflict associated with that.”

Press play on “Houses” below, and stay tuned for more bizarre dopeness from The Slaps.
