A dreary cut of contemplation.
Melbourne rapper EL HARDY’s latest single “kompressor” is druggy, eerie and daunting. A dreary synth lead leads the production alongside some percussion, with the backing of some booming 808s. Lyrically, he ponders relapsing, with the minimalism of the beat serving as the perfect backdrop for HARDY’s contemplation. It contains similarities to rappers like Retch and Lucki, but the Australian-tinged cadence gives it a unique style of aggression.
“kompressor” is slated to appear on EL HARDY’s upcoming project Scar Tissue, which is scheduled to drop soon. In the meantime, peep the new song below.
