Chicago’s Duffle Bag Buru impresses on new EP.

Duffle Bag Buru is another example of an absurdly talented Chicagoan that is criminally slept on in the national scene. While having a sizable regional following. I am very impressed with Buru’s Narcissist EP, as he shows off several cadences and flows and toys with multiple ad-libbing methods, keeping his verses fresh throughout the project.

In addition to Buru’s mixed bag of intriguing flows, he also fabricates sharp hooks and refrains for the duration of the EP. They are never too much, too repetitive, or too over the top, as is the rest of the project. This is a solid offering from an artist who seemingly makes few mistakes and scores on nearly every calculated risk he takes musically.

The record’s production is also fantastic, featuring production from  Conner David, Luke Almighty, Kayo, and Sheriff. Slime Dollaz is the project’s only feature, giving a bubbly autotuned verse that closed the extended play offering nicely, finishing with a very high note.
