Grammy-nominated, Dreamville rapper Bas kicks off 2020 with the video release for “Amnesia,” featuring R&B queen Ari Lennox and multi-platinum Nigerian Afrobeat artist Kiddominant. A colorful celebration of the African diaspora, the track is a sonically intoxicating fusion of Afro House, Afrobeats, Soca, and sounds stemmed from Bahia, Brazil, where it was produced by Bas’ brother DJ mOma. Bas, who is Sudanese, has been at the forefront of shedding light on the African diaspora, as depicted by The Atlantic and Teen Vogue. This includes touring Africa in 2018 and all of last month with Everyday PPL, and amplifying his culture and heritage throughout his artistry —from featuring Nubian pyramids on the cover of his third studio album, Milky Way, to capturing the energy of the continent in tracks like “Jollof Rice” and “Sanufa.” Led by an all-black creative crew, the “Amnesia” video features direction and choreography from London artist Tajana
B-Williams and styling from Mazhané Rima- Fleurima and Zarah Elizabeth.
