Guest vocals from none other than the legend himself, T Pain.
Daniel Caesar’s music is the special kind of touching that can’t help but make you smile and want to cry all in the same listen. His soft but powerful vocals seem to almost reach out and grab you as they saunter through the airwaves, and abstractly, the energy given from his songs resemble a cloudy Sunday afternoon.
The Toronto singer has a long reputation of having one of the most-velvety, majestic voices in all of the modern music landscape, and his stripped-down, never overly lavish subject matter makes each track hit home in a way few other artists can replicate. “Who Hurt You” is a strikingly real portrait of Caesar’s love interests and his admiration from afar. A surprising guest on this track was T Pain, who delivers an honest portrayal of his flaws over the course of his youthful fame.
This was the single most sonically delightful records I have listened to in some time.
