Get familiar with Frex.
Since becoming a music critic, I’m not sure there’s ever been a better submission email that I’ve received than the one I got from Pennsylvania native, Frex. While 90% of my emails consist of the same trap sound, her’s was angelic, refreshing and just downright amazing. Continuing her assault on the industry, the rising singer returns with her new video for, “Ellis Dee”.
Directed by Nikoli Partiyeli, the aesthetic for the video is carried by a 1970s theme that’s reliant on influences from Acid Rock that can be seen in everything from the attire to the dance moves. With Frex standing front and center the whole time, soundtracking the engaging visuals with her hypnotic vocals and putting listeners in a trance, one by one.
With the song hailing from her brilliant 2018 release, Blu, we’re hoping that this means she’s getting ready to work on some new stuff. After releasing, what I believe, was a top 10 R&B album of 2018, we’ll be waiting anxiously for each one of her drops.
